Hardware and Software Requirements for Workflow Modules
Please verify that your computer meets the minimum requirements for both hardware and software. Microix is also compatible with Virtual Servers running Microsoft Windows operating system 2012 r2 or higher.
Minimum Server Hardware Requirements
- 64 Bit processor (1.2 GHz or faster)
- 8GB RAM
- 200MB + (3 x Approximate database Size). This will need to increase as your database size increases over time.
- 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection from server to workstation
- Automatic backup for SQL database
- Microsoft™ SQL Server 2012 or higher (Express or Full Version)
- Microsoft™ Windows 2012 r2 Server or higher
- HTTP Mobile Approval function and WCF server for deploying time clocks at locations that are not connected to the main office has same requiement as Cloud Companion.
Deploying our Windows Application via the Web using Terminal or Citrix Server (Optional)
- 64 bit Microsoft 2012+ Terminal Server or Citrix Server (REMOTE ACCESS ONLY)
- Additional server access licenses are required by Microsoft/Citrix
- RAM should be increased based on the total number of users who will be accessing the application simultaneously
- The software will consume approximately 60MB of RAM per user
Time Clock Hardware Requirements
Face/Finger/RFID Time Clock
- DHCP or Static IP
- Ethernet and or WIFI Connection
- Surge protection (Recommended)
IP Ports Requirements:
Microix Client needs port 1433 to connect to SQL Server over TCP/IP
Microix Cloud and HTTP Approval connects on Port 80 or Port 443 (if configured on SSL)
Microix FTP needs port 21 to download Updates for both the windows and web application

- Abila MIP™ Payroll Module is required for the Microix Timesheet Module
- Abila MIP™ Budget Module is required for the Microix Budget Module ONLY if you need additional budget versions other than Original and Revised
NOTE: If you plan to save attachments directly to the SQL server then we recommend SQL Standard or Enterprise edition instead of the free version of SQL. The other alternative is to save attachments via a UNC path on the network

Windows Server 2012 R2 or higher with IIS services. This product can be installed on the same server as other ASP.NET web applications if you already have an existing IIS web server. We do not recommend installing any web application on your MIP/Microix Server if it will be exposed to the WAN. This product can be installed on a virtual server but has to reside on the same network as the MIP/Microix SQL server. Firewall configuration is required if you plan to expose the application to the WAN, SSL certificate is recommended for added security if your WEB server is not currently using an SSL certificate
