How to enable the static content for a Web Page/Site in IIS
Question:
Steps to enable the static content for a site in IIS
Windows 7 and above:
- Click Start, go to Control Panel, and then select Programs.
- Under Programs and Features, choose Turn Windows features on or off. The Windows Features dialog box will appear.
- Expand the root-level item Internet Information Services, expand World Wide Web Services, and then expand Common HTTP Features.
- Select the Static Content feature as shown in the following image:
Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2
- Click Start, select All Programs, choose Administrative Tools, and then select Server Manager.
- In the navigation pane, select Roles, and then choose Add Roles.
- In the Before You Begin window, click Next.
- Go to Select Server Roles window > Web Server (IIS) > Next > Next.
- In the Select Role Service window, expand Common HTTP Features, and then select Static Content as shown in the following image:
