Assembly

Use this type to identify items that will later generate/produce finished goods for sale or internal use
Items marked as Assembly cannot be ordered on a purchase order but can be dispensed or sold
Raw Material and Inventory Type are used as materials for an assembly

Raw Material

Used by assembly type items to product finished goods. These types can be included on a purchase order but cannot be used to dispense internally or sell
Use Inventory Type instead or Raw Material Type if you need to include in assemblies, dispense and/or sell

Inventory

Regular Inventory items which can be used on document types: Request from Inventory, Warehouse Transfer, Sales Order, and Purchase Orders
