The use of Afaxys marketplace requires a monthly fee, whereas Microix’s Vendor Punchout, that is directly utilized in the supplier’s marketplace, does not.

Process Comparison between Microix Vendor Punchout & Afaxys Marketplace

Please see the below value of Afaxys marketplace for customers that are trying to utilize punchout with a vendor that supports EDI and does not support cXML (PunchOut).

• Not all suppliers have punchout capability on their own: 25 suppliers in Afaxys marketplace have no other way to provide punchouts outside of Afaxys.
• Not all suppliers have cXML capability: Afaxys takes Microix’s cXML and translates it to EDI, as many suppliers that Afaxys connects with will only accept EDI. The ones that would normally only be able to receive an emailed PO would confirm orders in the Afaxys supplier portal. 
• Afaxys has been very successful in working with local suppliers, that do not offer punchout in their own marketplace, so that they can appear in the Afaxys marketplace and give customers access to current pricing. That’s one less thing a customer has to manage.
• Afaxys, as a company, is focused on supporting public health. The company provides connections to specialty distributors/suppliers that they use the most, including Dental, Medical, office supply companies, and many small specialty suppliers that have no way to provide this technology to their customers on their own.
