The iFace Biometric Time Clock is an optional add‑on for the Microix Timesheet Module that allows employees to clock in/out using Facial Recognition, Fingerprint, or optional RFID/Key Fob credentials. It provides fast, secure, and reliable time capture while eliminating “buddy punching” and improving accuracy.

Clocking In / Clocking Out — Quick Steps

  1. Stand in front of the device. The camera will auto‑adjust to your position.
  2. Verify your identity using your assigned method:
    • Face: Look directly into the camera.
    • Fingerprint: Place your finger flat on the sensor.
    • RFID/Key Fob: Tap or swipe your card/fob over the reader.
  3. The device matches your biometric to your employee record.
  4. Your punch is recorded instantly (Clock In or Clock Out).

Do I need a separate clock for each database?

Yes. Each device supports one database.

Can I buy clocks from another vendor?

No. Only clocks purchased through Microix or authorized distributors are supported. They include custom firmware required for Microix integration.

Can we purchase our own RFID cards?

You may, but Microix strongly recommends testing samples first. Microix is not responsible for third‑party card compatibility.

Can I purchase the time clock without the Timesheet Module?

No. The iFace requires the Microix Timesheet Module.

How do I enroll fingerprints or faces?

How are units installed?

  • Wall‑mounted

  • Managed through the Cloud Time Clock Manager

  • Clocks can be configured centrally, then installed at remote sites (enter Wi‑Fi password onsite)

What does the annual fee cover?

  • Software that enables clock functionality

  • Support for device connectivity & polling

  • Assistance configuring IP/network settings

What is NOT covered?

  • Training on adding users or enrolling biometrics

    • This is part of implementation, not support

What if my original clock model is discontinued?

You may select a newer model from Microix’s current product line. New and old models can work together.


Environmental & Reliability Notes

  • Do not place clocks outdoors without protection

  • Avoid strong direct light

  • Very reliable, but:

    • Dirt, cuts, or heavy wear on fingers may affect fingerprint scans

    • Older devices (5+ years) may show normal aging (slower performance, sensor issues, etc.)



Can the iFace identify employees wearing masks?

No. Face coverings block key facial points. Employees should remove masks before scanning.
