Creation date: 3/12/2026 9:19 AM    Updated: 4/29/2026 12:40 PM

Database Allowances

  • Modern includes 1 set of 3 databases under the same MIP Serial Number at no additional chargeNote: Any additional databases must be purchased in sets of 3.  Modern Requisition Module add‑ons such as (Inventory, Asset, HTML, Vendor Punchout, Invoice Capture, Reimbursement, Bank feed) must be repurchased for every set of 3 databases regardless of whether the client plans to use the add‑on in every database.
  • Classic includes 1 set of 5 databases under the same MIP Serial Number at no additional charge. Note: Any additional databases must be purchased in sets of 5. Classic add‑ons must be repurchased for every set of 5 databases. When a client upgrades from Classic to Modern, their database allowance is reset from 5 to 3, because Modern licensing is based on sets of 3 databases.

Modern Example Scenario

The client already owns:

  • Requisition Module (plus possibly Timesheet and/or Budget Modules)

They now need to add:

  • 1 additional set of databases (3 more databases)
  • All available add‑ons

How many add‑ons will they need to purchase?

Web licenses  ( IMPORTANT over 1000 web licenses must contact Microix Sales)

  • Microix Web Licenses (Classic vs. Modern) Across Multiple Databases

    Classic (DBs included: 5)
Web Companion licenses are shared across all licensed databases. The total license count applies collectively and does not increase with additional database packs.

    • Example 1: With 1,000 web licenses, total active users across all databases cannot exceed 1,000.
    • Example 2: With 2 database packs (10 databases) and 2,500 web licenses, total active users across all ten databases cannot exceed 2,500.

    Modern (DBs included: 3)
Web licenses are also shared across all licensed databases, and the total does not increase with additional database packs.

    • Example 1: With 1,000 web licenses, total active users across all databases cannot exceed 1,000.
    • Example 2: With 2 database packs (6 databases) and 2,500 web licenses, total active users across all six databases cannot exceed 2,500.

Hardware

  • Barcode scanners can be shared across databases.
  • Timeclocks cannot be shared across databases.

Special Case: Multiple Organizations

There is no charge for additional databases when:

  • Two organizations operate under the same MIP Serial Number, or
  • Two companies are merging their general ledger.

Exception:
If they need a unique MIP Serial Number or a separate MIP + Microix system, they must purchase their own licenses.
