🔄 Upgrade to Modern : What to Expect
📌 Important: On-Premise users will experience slight differences in the upgrade process.
✅ Eligibility Criteria for Modern Workflow Module (s)
To qualify for the upgrade:
- ✔️ Please refer to the link for Modern Workflow Module(s) release dates-Whats New
(Exceptions apply if you own other Microix module (s) not released, but plan to implement them in Modern later) - ✔️ Environment: On-Premise or MIP MT Cloud Hosted
Note – On‑Premise IT Participation Required
If your organization is on‑premise, your IT team must be available during the upgrade window to assist with access and environment‑specific steps. Please review the Modern Technical Q&A for preparation guidance.
📦 Included in the Upgrade
🛠️ Upgrade Process Overview
🔧 Step 1: Microix Upgrade (After Hours – Minimal Impact)
- Modern Module Migration (~30 mins)
- Attachment Extraction (~5 mins per 5,000 attachments)
⚙️ Step 2: MIP Configuration (Business Hours – ~1 Hour)
- System paths and permissions setup
- Move attachments to permanent location
- ⚠️ Possible brief interruption to requisition or attachment access during this step
🚨 Key Considerations Before Upgrading
- 🔁 No option to revert to Classic version once upgraded
- 📄 Custom reports/forms/layouts from Classic do not transfer
- 🖨️ Batch scanning not available in Modern
- 🔐 Users must reset passwords after upgrade
- 📧 All users must use domain-based email addresses
- 👤 Existing Concurrent User Licenses will be converted to Web Licenses in Modern. Additional web user licenses may be required

- Purchase 4 hours of Admin-level Modern Training. This is ideal for teams seeking hands-on coordination during the upgrade process. The trained Admin can then lead staff training tailored to your organization’s workflow
